Q: How much does it cost to hire a contractor?

A: It really depends on where you adopt. Each site has it’s own challenges and requirements. It’s less than you might expect, please call us before making up your mind that it’s too expensive!

Q: What sections are available for adoption?

A: Availability is a moving target. Some states can provide an available list while others depend on the adopter to approach them with a request. Call us and we’ll find out what is available in the areas you might want to adopt.

Q: What is allowed on the sign?

A: This is perhaps the most important question. The Adopt-A-Highway guidelines are very specific. In most cases only your group/business name and logo are permitted. In some cases a city or an address is allowed. Please call us and we’ll explain in more detail.

Q: How big is the sign?

A: Sign size varies from state to state. Please refer to the state contact tabs on the home page for this answer.

Q: How long will I have to commit to the adoption?

A: We ask that you give us a two-year commitment to the program. At the end of the two years you can renew your agreement or we can part as friends. Your permit from the state could range from 2 years to 10 years depending on the state’s program.
